May 2011 - Parenting 101

Well it's been about a month since I've written a blog posting. May was a great month. We were learning so much as first time parents. Sean was off work until May 4th, so he had 2 weeks home with me and Lochlan. We had a great time, the weather was pretty decent so we would go on walks everyday. It took awhile for me to feel like walking very far since my c-section was still healing and I would get very tired. (Even now still my scar area feels sore if I do too much in one day.) Having Sean home was so great! I only wished he could be home even longer. But, my parents came into town on the 4th too, so the day he went back to work, I had them at home with me...which was a great blessing! I know that a lot of women do it all on their own. I admire those women, but I have to say that it is so wonderful to have help. And it was wonderful that my parents got to come to see their new little grandson too. Here are some picture of them with Loch:

My parents stayed for 2 weeks, and during that time we also celebrated my first Mother's Day! Sean was so sweet and got a couple of our early photos of Loch framed as a mother's day gift. I really enjoyed my first Mother's Day and it was really special since I also got to share that day with my mom and my Grandma too (my dad's mom), since we all had dinner together that evening. Below is a picture of all of us.

That same weekend Uncle Denny (Sean's brother) and his girlfriend Rachel also came to visit. I think Denny really likes being an Uncle! Here are some picture of them with Lochlan.

On May 20th, Lochlan turned one month old! Time sure does fly. I took a picture of him with a stuffed animal doggie when he was a week old and the same stuffed animal when he was a month old.

This is the one week photo:

A couple of big milestones this month, Loch started to smile at us. The first smile was on his one month birthday. Sean got him to smile at him while he was making faces at him. He's a shot of them playing together right before Loch smiled at daddy.

I got a good smile and giggle from him a few days later after an early morning feeding. He also started to giggle and coo shortly after the smiling started. Now he makes cute noises all the time! We are really enjoying it.

Here are some other pictures from May, we have had a lot of fun!
