Week 11 - Food Aversions Continue

Well, from the last post, I’ve definitely taken a turn for the worst with food aversions. For the past few weeks nothing has really sounded good. Also, Sean and I are busy working in our yard, trying to get it completed before the rain comes (and stays for many many months), and so I just haven’t felt like cooking either.

I’m consisting of frozen pizza, frozen dinners, yogurt, cereal, fruit and smoothies. Oh well. I take my vitamins and I am sure the little fetus is stealing what it needs from me, so all should be ok. I have noticed in the past few days that I am starting to warm up to other foods again. But I really wish I would be interested in veggies again. The thought of green veggies at all (and tomatoes too) completely disgusts me at this time. Ah well….as I said….hopefully this food pickiness is over soon.

Right now I am on the verge of starting my 12th week. On October 17th, I will officially be past my first trimester. YAY! I still have not said anything at work yet, which is not difficult since I have yet to gain a pregnancy pound. However, I am sure that I will start to show here someday soon, so it might be time for baggy sweaters ! Good thing the weather is getting cooler! =)

I am not ready to tell people at work quite yet. Partly because I am paranoid and I still believe that anything could happen. I think it will be better to wait until after our 2nd appointment on Oct. 26th so that we can be reassured that the baby is doing well, growing properly and all is good. After that I am sure I will start to grow a belly and that will keep me assured between Dr.’s visits that everything is alright. Another reason I want to wait to tell people at work is because we have our annual reviews this month, and I think it makes sense to wait until that is complete. =) Sneaky, I know, but realistic. I also want to make sure I have a plan of action for how much time I would like to take off, what stage my projects will be in at the time I leave, and plan of action for my return. I feel that if I can approach my meeting with my supervisor with this stuff already prepared that I will already have a head start on getting it all approved. Honestly, I know I am not going to want to come back to work at all, but realistically I have to. Even up here in Oregon, where the cost of our home was much less than what it would be had we bought a house in San Diego, we still need a 2 person income to do it. At least for the time being….

Plus, I am not really willing to give up vacations and other luxuries….so I guess that means going back to work.

More updates to come....
