We celebrated our 1st Anniversary last weekend! Yay!! It's hard to believe that it has been a year already. On Friday night, we went out to Sushi with our neighbors Brenden & Alyssa. We are so lucky to have found wonderful friends that just live 2 houses down from us. =) Cheers!
On Saturday, we decided to take a drive out to Hood River and stopped at Multnomah Falls on our way. This area of the Gorge actually is only about 30 minutes from our house! There are actually a few waterfalls in this area. We stopped at two: Wahkeena Falls & Multnomah Falls.

A great shot of the Multnomah. This waterfall has a 500'+ drop height for the upper portion of the waterfall! It's really big! I think Natalie and William will really enjoy seeing this when they visit this summer. =)

Hood River is a fun little town with lots of brewerys and wineries. We enjoyed just getting away and enjoying some sunshine on Saturday while walking to a few different tasting rooms in town. Afterwards we enjoyed a delicious dinner at Cielo, a contemporary fine dining restaraunt. That night we stayed at a cute little B&B called Villa Columbia (http://www.villacolumbia.com). The place is an old house that has been restored. Although there are 7 rooms, since it was Easter weekend, they only had 2 of the rooms rented, so we basically had the whole house to ourselves. Our room had a great view of the Columbia River. The home's caretaker servers a homemade breakfast in the morning too. It was wonderful.
On Easter Sunday we decided to go snowboarding, so we drove about 30 minutes from our litle B&B to Meadows Ski resort on Mt. Hood. We had a good time, even though it was raining/snowing most of the day and we got pretty soaked. The best part was that because of the holiday there was NO ONE there. It was like having the Mountain to ourselves. However, after lunch we were pretty tired of being wet. The precipitation was such a wet mix that it had started to penetrate our snowgear, our underlying sweatshirts and our t-shirts. Also, we were a little out of practice. Last year we never made it to the Mountain because Tank was such a young puppy that we couldn't leave him home alone all day. But this year we had our lovely neighbors taking care of him for our anniversary so we took advantage of it. At the end of the day on Easter Sunday, we went back over to their house and enjoyed a delicious homemade Easter Dinner. Thank you Alyssa & Brenden!! =) Happy Easter to everyone in SoCal. We miss you guys!!
